What a Motherwell customer said
“Chris from Strathworks was superb. Very competitive quote, arrived on time every day and completed the work to an exceptionally high standard. I would recommend Strathworks to anyone looking for quality work at a fair price.”
Garden fencing in Motherwell
We build timber fencing from scratch rather than just swapping panels, and removal of an existing timber fence is included where required. Guide rates are based on a standard 1.8 m fence on runs of 10 m or more with normal access and ground conditions. Short runs are priced as a fixed job.
- Lap / overlap panel from £110/lin m
- Closeboard / featheredge from £135/lin m
- Single-sided contemporary slatted from £150/lin m
- Double-sided privacy slatted from £180/lin m
Standard garden fencing is often completed within 1–3 days. Larger and bespoke slatted installations may take longer. Our fencing page has photos, full guide prices and what's quoted separately, our fencing cost guide has worked examples by run length, or ask for a fixed price for your boundary.
Artificial grass in Motherwell
Typical installs land between £65 and £120 per m² for a standard installation. The final price depends on access, ground conditions, drainage and the turf grade you choose — we confirm it with a fixed written quote after a free site visit.
See our artificial grass page for turf grades and how we prepare the ground, our cost guide for worked examples by lawn size, or compare it with a real turf lawn .
Dropped kerbs, planning and conservation areas in Motherwell
Motherwell is covered by North Lanarkshire Council, which needs a roads permit for any dropped kerb on a public pavement, and planning permission as well if your house is on an A or B road. The council's dropped kerb page has the details.
Hamilton Road in Motherwell is a conservation area. If your house is in one, a new drive can need planning permission, so we check your street before we quote. Elsewhere, a drive between your house and the road doesn't need permission as long as it's permeable or drains onto your own ground. Our planning permission guide has the detail, and the council lists its conservation areas.
