Patios across Glasgow

Patios that drain properly. And keep doing so.

Porcelain, sandstone, concrete or block. Whichever you pick, the build underneath is the same: full sub-base, real drainage falls, mortar where it matters, and a 5-year written guarantee.

  • 5-year written guarantee
  • Fixed-price quotes
  • Old patio removal included

Why our patios

A patio is only as good as the build underneath it.

Cracked slabs, sunken corners, water pooling against the back wall — all symptoms of one thing: shortcuts below the surface. We don't take them.

Proper foundations

100–150mm of compacted MOT Type 1 sub-base. The thing budget installers skimp on — it's why their patios sink and lift.

Built-in drainage

Minimum 1:80 fall away from the building, with drainage where needed. No standing water, no green slime in winter.

Premium materials

Porcelain, sandstone, concrete or block — sourced from established UK manufacturers with proper colour warranties.

Full service

Old patio removal, levelling, edging, steps, and a clean walk-around at handover. Nothing left for you to sort out.

Design flexibility

Multiple sizes, finishes and laying patterns. We'll bring samples to the site visit so you can see them in your light.

5-year written guarantee

Workmanship guarantee on every installation. In writing, in your portal, yours to keep.

Our 9-step install

No corners cut. None.

From dig to handover, here's exactly what happens on a Strathworks patio install.

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Site survey

We assess levels, drainage, and ground conditions in person.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Design & layout

Material choice, laying pattern, drainage falls and edge details — agreed before we start.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Excavation

Existing surface lifted and removed, ground excavated to proper depth.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    100–150mm MOT Type 1 sub-base

Properly compacted in layers — the foundation of a patio that lasts.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Edge restraints

Installed to contain the paving and stop creep at the perimeter.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Bedding layer

Sharp sand or full mortar bed depending on material — porcelain and sandstone always go on a full bed.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Precision laying with drainage falls

Slabs cut and laid by hand with the correct fall built in throughout.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Pointing

Mortar pointing or jointing compound depending on slab type — sealed joints, no weed growth.

  9. 9

    Step 9 · Handover

    Cleanup, walk-around & guarantee

Site cleared, surface protected during curing, walk-around with you and your guarantee in writing.

Frequently asked

Honest answers, no upsells.

How long does a patio install take?
A typical patio takes 3–5 days. Larger or more intricate designs (curves, multiple levels, steps) may take a week or more.
Do I need planning permission?
Most patios don't. If your property is listed or in a conservation area, restrictions can apply — we'll flag anything that needs checking at the site visit.
What's the best paving material?
Depends on budget and style. Porcelain is premium and lowest maintenance. Sandstone has natural beauty and warmth. Concrete is excellent value. We'll bring samples.
How do I maintain a patio?
A sweep, an occasional jet wash, and topping up the joints every couple of years. Porcelain needs almost nothing. Sandstone benefits from occasional sealing.
Can you match my existing paving?
Often yes — we'll bring samples to the site visit to find the closest match. If a perfect match isn't possible we'll tell you straight.
Will you handle the old patio?
Yes — removal and disposal of the old surface is included in your fixed-price quote unless you specifically ask to keep it.
